At the January 21st, 2025 school board meeting, the Board of Education of Iuka CCSD #7 appointed Derick A. Vincent as the new Superintendent of schools, beginning July 1, 2025.
Mr. Vincent has been serving the Iuka CCSD #7 School District in several capacities for the past twelve years, most recently as the Assistant Superintendent/Principal. Prior to that appointment in 2024, Mr. Vincent served as the Dean of Students for four years and the middle school Math teacher for 12 years. Mr. Vincent also served as basketball coach, track coach, assistant Volleyball coach, and Beta sponsor. Vincent is also Assistant Football coach at SCHS. He also served as middle school Math teacher at South Central Middle School prior to coming here in 2013.
Mr. Vincent is 1995 graduate from Iuka CCSD #7 and 1999 graduate of Salem Community High School.
Vincent earned three degrees: Bachelor’s of Science in Middle School Education from Murray State University, a Master’s of Science in Education from Eastern Illinois University, and Specialist in Education from Eastern Illinois University.
The Board of Education is honored to have Mr. Vincent as Iuka Superintendent.
Mr. Vincent states, “ I am looking forward to be able to give back to this school and community that I have been a part of my whole life. My goal is to continue our academic excellence and our positive school atmosphere.”
Mr. Vincent and his wife, Becky, have been married for 20 years and they have two children, Riley and Regan. All are Iuka Alumni.
