Reminder: Open House tonight from 5:00-6:00. If you signed up for the school supply giveaway and didn't pick up items yesterday, school supplies will be available at open house. If your child requires an inhaler, Nurse Amanda is asking for an inhaler be brought to open house tonight.

The OBC boys and girls games are going to be played tonight, but the locations have changed. The boys will play in the 3rd place game at 4:00 at Patoka. The girls will play in the championship game at 6:00 at the Salem Little League Complex.

"If you signed up for the annual school supply giveaway, you may pick up supplies at the Iuka General Baptist Church gymnasium from 4-5PM today, August 13. Any items not picked up will be taken to the school and will be available at Open House." We have received some clothing donations in limited sizes. Anyone needing school clothes is welcome to take a look. Upcoming dates: August 12: swim party at Salem Pool August 13: school supply giveaway 4:00-5:00 at Iuka General Baptist August 14: Open House 5:00-6:00 August 15: First day of school with 2:15 dismissal.

The Lady Pirates defeated Selmaville In 8-Innings To Advance To OBC Finals The OBC Tournament semifinal game yesterday saw 3rd seed Iuka knock off #2 Selmaville 6-4 after taking the lead late in the top of the 8th inning. Katee S. struck out 13 batters and allowed 4 hits going all 8 for the win. She also had an inside the park homer which helped Iuka tie the game at 4 in the top of the seventh. Rylee W. and Kenzie C. scored the go ahead runs in international tie breaker on a passed balls. Kenzie C. added an RBI. Iuka will get top seed Central City on Monday afternoon in Central City for the OBC Tournament title at 4pm. Good luck Ladies!

In first round OBC action, the Pirates earned a 12-3 win over Field. Landon W. struck out 10 allowing 7 hits and 3 runs in 5 innings. Lucas H. and Zach J. each had 2 hits for Iuka. Trygg A., Robbie P., Lucas H., Jones and Wyatt E. each drove in a run. The Pirate will play at 4:00 today at Central City Lion's Park.

The Lady Pirates defeated Odin 16-1 in the first round of OBC Tournament action. Katee S. got the W in circle with 7ks and only one walk and had a hit. Emily J. went 3-3 with 2 of them doubles and 7 RBIs. Kenley C. went 2-2. Ava R. 2 RBIs. Rylee Wi. and Kenzie M. had an RBI each. The Lady Pirates will be back in action this afternoon as they play Selmaville at Odin Park.

The Pirates and Lady Pirates will be in action tomorrow evening in OBC Tournament play. The Pirates will play Field at Central City and the Lady Pirates will travel to Odin to take on the Lady Eagles at Odin Park. The boys game will be at Lions Field in Central City. Both games start at 4:00 pm. Good luck to both teams!!!

Any student that is interested in running Cross Country, our first practice will be on Wednesday, August 16th right after school until 3:45 p.m. Please make sure that your student has an up to date sports physical, running shoes, and shorts and a t-shirt to practice in. Information will be handed out to interested athletes during open house. Please see Mrs. Purintun for details.

Check out these important dates: July 24 Registration 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. July 25 Registration 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. August 12: back to school swim party at the Salem Pool at 8:00 pm. August 14: Open House 5:00 pm August 15: First day of school with students with a 2:15 pm dismissal. Physicals are offered during both days of registration for a very reduced cost of $20.

Baseball and Softball workouts are Voluntary only. These are not tryouts. We will have signup sheets for all sports at registration. Please keep in mind, sports physicals are required before students are allowed to participate in sports.

If you are going to be parked in front of school more than a few minutes, please make sure that you are using a parking space when dropping off your child in the morning. It creates congestion and multiple lanes that are unsafe.
